COST Action ES0802
- The next meeting of COST Action ES 0802 will be held at the Swiss Science Center in Winterthur.
This is an initiative to establish an European COST action on the use of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) for atmospheric research. The Kick-Off Meeting took place on November, 20th 2008 in Brussels. In the meantime there have been two meetings of the working groups, four meetings of the managing committee and one core group meeting, see our meetings page.
The next meeting is a meeting of WG 3 as a side workshop of the BLLAST campaign.

2011/11/21: COST Action ES 0802 has been represented during an exhibition in the European Parlament, see the fact sheet.
2011/11/01: Henri Eisenbeiss and Melanie Kund announced the Proceedings of the International Conference on Unmanned Aerial Vehicle in Geomatics (UAV-g).
2011/08/19:Bruno Neininger, local organiser of the next meeting of COST Action ES 0802, announces the Autumn Workshop and MC Meeeting to be held at the Swiss Science Center "Technorama" in Winterthur/SUI, 2011/09/19-21.
2011/07/28: Mark Okrent, Chairman of UAVNET, announces the International AUVSI Conference for Unmanned Systems to take place at the David Intercontinental Hotel in Tel Aviv on March 20 - 22 2012. The conference will include two days of relevant lectures, exhibitions of Unmanned Vehicles and related technologies, and a third day for visiting Israeli industries or attending an Unmanned Marine Systems operational presentation.
2011/07/04: Member groups of COST Action ES 0802 contribute to the BLLAST campaign organised by Marie Lothon.
2011/05/29: airtec (Frankfurt, DE) announces the 5th International UAV World Conference, taking place in Frankfurt (DE), Exhibition Centre on 2011/11/02-04.
2011/03/22: NAROM together with Andøya Rocket Range, Narvik University College, University of Tromsø, University of Bergen and NORUT host the first summer school about unmanned aerial systems with a technical approach at Andøya Rocket Range. This workshop will be co-funded by COST Action ES 0802. For more inforamtions see here.
2011/03/21: Manfred Lange (Cyprus Institute) presented the joint Cyprus Institute and COST Action ES 0802 workshop programme "Expanding the Scope - Autonomous Flying Platforms for Atmospheric and earth Surface Observations in the Mediterranean".
2011/03/18: Peter van Blyenburgh (UVS International, Paris) informs about the publication of ICAO Circular 328, Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). The purpose of this circular is to apprise States of the emerging ICAO perspective on the integration of UAS into non-segregated airspace and at aerodromes, to consider the fundamental differences from manned aviation that such integration will involve and to encourage States to help with the development of ICAO policy on UAS by providing information on their experiences associated with these aircraft.
2011/03/14: Peter van Blyenburgh (UVS International, Paris) announces the SESAR JU invitation to submit a proposal for "Associate Partners of the SJU". Please read the following documents 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
2011/03/07: The ETH Zurich announces the UAV-g 2011 conference, which is dedicated entirely to Unmaned Aerial Vehicles in the field of Geomatics. It will take place 2011/09/14-16 at ETH Zurich. UAV-g brings together experts in photogrammetry, surveying, robotics, computer vision, artificial intelligence and aerospace engineering. For more details follow this link.
2011/03/04: The von Karman institute announces the VKI Lecture Series "Recent developments in unmanned aircraft systems including UAV and MAV", which is held april 4-8, 2011. For more informations follow this link.
2011/01/05: Manfred Lange announces a workshop on UAS and UAS applications in the mediterranean organised by the Energy, Environment and Water Research Center (EEWRC) of the Cyprus Institute under the auspices of COST Action ES0802 on 2011/03/28-30. It will be followed by the regular WG and MC meetings of COST Action ES 0802.
