2009/12/18: Stefania Amici from the Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia has been nominated as a new member of the Managing Committee of COST Action ES 0802 for Italy.

2009/11/24: Professor Dan G. Blumberg from the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev has been nominated as a new member of the Managing Committee of COST Action ES 0802.

2009/11/04: Manfred Lange from the Cyprus Institute announces a workshop "Autonomous Flying Platforms for Atmospheric and Earth  Surface Observation in the Mediterranean" in Nicosia, Cyprus between 19 and 23 April 2010. See file for more details.

2009/09/17: Phil Anderson, British Antarctic Survey announces a one day mini-conference on UAS Operations in Antarctica in Cambridge on 2009/11/04. See file for more details.

2009/09/02-04: Second Meeting of the Working Groups of COST Action ES 0802 and third meeting of the MC. The meetings were hosted by the Andoya Rocket Range and ALOMAR (www.rocketrange.no, alomar.rocketrange.no). The agenda included WG meetings, a joint WG meeting, the MC meeting and a flight demonstration.

2009/02/23: First Meeting of the Working Groups (WG) of COST Action ES 0802 and second meeting of the MC. After separated meetings of WG 1 (Unmanned Aerial Systems), WG 2 (UAS Sensors for Atmospheric Research), WG 3 (High Resolution 3D Atmospheric Measurements by UAS) and WG 4 (UAV Operation), a joint meeting of all WG members addressed a common understanding of several UAV related aspects. During an UAV flight demonstration, the WG members discussed operational and practical aspects of UAVs for atmospheric research.
